  1. Locate the Settings: Go to Settings at the bottom of the page on the main menu, and then select Phone System in the menu.

Important Note: Before you can activate your missed call text-back, you will need to have your phone on GHL set up because otherwise, you obviously can’t activate it.

  1. Activate Missed Call Text-Back: Find the "Missed Call Text Back" toggle and switch it ON.

Important Note: This works only for inbound calls that are not answered. If the call is answered or successfully forwarded, the text is not sent, ensuring your prospects don't get duplicate messages.

  1. Write the Perfect, Immediate Response: The message must be instant, apologetic, and action-oriented to instantly pivot the conversation.
  • Template: "Hi, sorry I missed your call! This is Your Name with Your Business. How can I help you right now? Feel free to text me here!"
  • Why it works: You instantly reply to their outreach and pivot the communication channel over to SMS, despite being unavailable. You will want to check it at a minimum of once every 12 to 24 hours to ensure that you respond to your potential leads in a timely fashion.   1. Go to Your Chat Widget Settings: First, head over to Sites in the main menu in the lefthand corner, and then select Chat Widget in the far right corner at the top.

  1. Customize Appearance and Message: For this part, you will adjust the color to match your brand and set a friendly welcome message (e.g., "Hi there! Have a question? Chat with us instantly!"). You can do this under the tab Style, which I highlighted as number 1. Next, you can choose your Chat Icon that your customers will see found as number 2 in the image. Finally, for number 3, you would choose the color you want to match your chat box with to fit with your brand.

  1. Pre-Chat Lead Capture: Next, you will go to the Chat Window, which I highlighted as number 1. Ensure you set the initial form questions to capture essential lead data (Name, Email, Phone) before the chat begins. You do this by clicking on the dropdown found at Contact Form Options, which I highlighted as number 2 in the red box. This is your insurance policy: even if the prospect closes the window mid-chat, you still have their contact information in your CRM.

  1. The Solopreneur Savior "Offline" Mode: This is the most critical setting for a lean business. When you define your operating hours, GHL knows when you're off the clock. When someone engages the chat outside of your defined hours, the chat widget automatically converts into a full lead capture form. You can set this up using the image below. First, you go to the red box highlighted as number 1 and enable the Business Office Hours. Next you go to red box number 2 and set the days available. For red box number 3,  you set the hours available for your Live Chat feature.

  2. Responding with Velocity: When you respond to a message within the Conversations tab, GHL automatically replies using the same channel the lead used (SMS to a text thread, or back through the Chat Widget if they are still on the page).

First, go to the red box highlighted as number 1. Next, you’ll see the different tabs. Red box 2 is your central space for unread, recent, starred, and all conversations.
